Her şey 1913’te Ruhr bölgesinin kalbindeki Essen-Borbeck işçi mahallesinde başladı. 1888 doğumlu Heinrich Deichmann eşi Julie ile birlikte işleteceği bir kunduracı dükkanı açtı. İki nesil ve neredeyse yüz yıl sonra bu şirket gelişerek Avrupa’nın pazar lideri konumuna geldi. Deichmann bugün 26 ülkede 3.800’den fazla şube ile yaklaşık 38.252 insanı istihdam ediyor.
