Karşıyaka İzban İstasyonu
Hakkında
İstasyon, Anadolu'daki en eski ikinci demiryolu hattı olan İzmir (Basmane)-Kasaba (Turgutlu) Demiryolu (SCR&SCP) hattı için inşa edilerek 1865 yılında kullanılmaya başlanılmıştır. 1934 yılında SCR&SCP şirketi TCDD tarafından satın alınarak feshedilmiş ve işlettiği demiryolu hattı ve istasyonları da TCDD ağına katılmıştır. 2001 yılında elektrifikasyon işlemi gören istasyon, 2006 yılında İZBAN projesi kapsamında kullanıma kapatılmış ve 2010 yılında yeniden inşa edilerek hizmete girmiştir. İstasyon 3.260 metre uzunluğundaki Karşıyaka Demiryolu Tüneli'nin içinde bulunmaktadır. Tarihi istasyon binası kullanılmamaktadır.
İstasyon, İZBAN'ın Cumaovası'ndan Menemen'e sefer yapan Merkez Hattı trenleri tarafından kullanılmaktadır.
